On Monday, January 2, 2017 the Swearing-In Ceremony was held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center for Ward 7 Council Member Vincent Gray and Ward 7 Advisory Neighborhood Commissioners.
On August 31, 2016 MHCDO staff Robin Craig and Donna Baskerville and MHCDO Board Director, Sylvia Butler participated with News Channel 4 Backpacks 4 Kids Campaign to present school back packs and supplies to forty (40) 5th grade students at JC Nalle Elementary School. Kim Burke is the Principal At J.C. Nalle, which is located at 219 50th St SE. Washington, DC 20019. The school's goal is for students to develop the academic and social skills necessary to become responsible citizens. NBC4’s Backpacks 4 Kids is a component fund of the Community Foundation for the National Capital Region.

On Thursday, September 29, 2016, MHCDO held a Homeownership Sustainability Event. Did you know there are federal funds to help DC Homeowners facing foreclosure? Information was shared about how to qualify for up to $38,000 in a forgivable loan.
