Fannie Mae Exterior Rehab Program

MHCDO and the Fannie Mae Foundation are working together to address the deteriorated appearance of older homes in targeted neighborhoods.

In 2001 and 2002, the Fannie Mae Exterior Rehab Program improved the facades of 23 homes located along designated streets in the Marshall Heights neighborhood. MHCDO replaced items including windows, doors, roofs, walkways, steps and fences. Some houses also had painting done, porches fixed, and handrails installed.

Currently, 30 homes are undergoing exterior rehabilitation in the River Terrace neighborhood.
