The Marshall Heights Community Development Organization (MHCDO) is a non-profit community-based organization that has undertaken community development activities in the Ward 7 area of Washington, DC since 1979.  MHCDO’s mission is to help grow Ward 7 into the District of Columbia’s most welcoming, prospering, livable community for everyone.

AREA OF CONSIDERATION:  DC / Ward 7 / Region / USA

 SUMMARY:  Incumbent completes ongoing case management of persons in Marshall Heights Community Development Organization’s Supportive Housing Program. Ensuring activities or programs engaged to help participants maximize their level of independent living, which complement MHCDO’s objective for developing and maintaining stable properties.  

DESCRIPTION:
Provide detailed intake assessments to evaluate each participant’s goals and service needs.
Determine the level of ongoing case management that is required and make recommendations as needed.
Meet with each tenant as needed to review assessment, update goals and address any new social service needs or changes.
Maintain a confidential file on each program participant that documents meetings, assessment, goals, and service need referrals. To include ages, employment transitioned, services in the program.
Work with MHCDO Staff and other organizations to develop service options for program participants, making referrals when appropriate.
Conduct alcohol and drug testing. Ensure proper test monitoring and handling of test samples.
Prepare monthly statics and narrative reports as needed.
Work in conjunction with property management to ensure property rules and regulations are upheld.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a Bachelor of Social Work, or equivalent work experience.  Certified Social Worker.  Must be flexible in work hours.  Must have strong clinical skills and experience working with individuals with multi-faceted social issues.  Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds such as homelessness, chronic mental illness.  Helps with programming for residents. Have good written and verbal communication skills and be competent in Microsoft Word.
